If someone knows that excessive eating is a big sin but they still do it, but now that she’s getting married she’s eating very less so that she could be in good shape. Is this shirk, as she didn’t stop the sin for Allah but for her husband to be?

As a parent to 21 yr old twins (boy n girl) Alhamdulillah I tried giving them knowledge of both the worlds so after this can I keep control of what they do? Like see who they are friends with , check their phones , ask them not to lock their room doors, not let them hangout with friends like other kids do. There are some Muslims who give advice to go & see a certain doctor because they believe/say that “there is Shifa(healing) in the hands of that doctor”. Isn’t this shirk because Allah is the One who gives shifa?

I live in a community that isn’t pious and islamic. Me and my family dont know any pious women. How should I get married? Is it permissible to contact a pouis sister online for marriage through email, twitter or instagram? So I make an appointment to meet her with her dad, would this be permissible? If this isn’t permissible, does that mean that I can’t get married? What is else can I do sheikh?

ANSWER: You can let the local Imam know that you are interested in marriage or sign up for matrimonial sites however, it is not permissible for you to contact non-mahram women directly like this as they are non-mahram to you!
