QUESTION: I am lying on the bed. My leg is above in height to Islamic books. Is this permissible? If it’s not permissible please specify whether this is Kufr or not.

ANSWER: No problem.

Heard that it’s haram to greet with gesture(hand/finger).So, it is haram to wave the hand as a greeting? How about waving and smiling as a greeting? What about greeting someone while waving and saying hi/hello?What about the world leaders waving hands to public/media in meeting or seminars?

ANSWER: This is what Ibn Allah qayyem said as this was at his time part of the forms of greeting by the disbelievers. Nowadays, this is mainly common among the Muslims and it seems to be ok providing it is with mahrams or the same gender.

At times I visit some other city, or few times it happened that I visited to Madina and was in a hotel near to Masjid Nabvi. You need to give salam whenever there is a normal need for that as when entering a room.
