QUESTION: I applied chemical henna without knowing it may form a barrier. I did ghusl the next day and prayed, but on the 4th day I learned it might block water. I tried removing it, but some remains and is very painful to fully remove. Do I need to repeat that ghusl? Are my prayers after it valid? What should I do if it can’t be fully removed? And Should I inform others who used it or stay quiet?

ANSWER: If it is making a layer and a barrier over the skin that prevents water from reaching, you must remove it. If it can’t be removed, you must, after making ghusl or wudhu, perform tayammum for the areas missed.

QUESTION: If someone uses an old Islamic thobe to clean dirty chairs/floors, is that disrespectful or kufr?

QUESTION: In our cultural marriage ceremony, the bride is well dressed on the marriage day to be seen by the non-mahram of the groom side on the day of walima. If someone wants to have walima and maintain the privacy of the bride, how should he organize or deal with the weeding?

QUESTION: When starting Salah, before surah Fatiha, should we recite the following 3 things: du’a istiftah, aa ‘udu billahi minashhaitaanirrajeem, Bismillah hirrahman-irrahim in ALL the rakahs or only in the first rakah when we start praying?

ANSWER: Only the first rakah The basmalah is recited before reading the fatiha in every rakah.

QUESTION: If someone doesn’t pray besides some taraweehs or Eid prayer, or only prays isha during Ramadan (so basically they rarely pray), and they are told to pray or they will go to hell, but they still don’t establish the salah and don’t really change, are they a kaffir? Or is there anything else to be done?

QUESTION: Sheikh, when my mother and sister talk, my sister does not speak properly to my mother. My sister disrespects my mother when they talk, and for my sister, this kind of bad speech is normal for her when she talks to my mother. ANSWER: If you can defend your mother and prevent her from disrespecting her, you should do that even if your sister becomes angry and stops talking to you. You must stand up for your mother.

The only thing that bothers me is the dilemma of a merciful God and eternal torture in hell, this really doesn’t make sense. If a non Muslim was morally good but didn’t believe In god. He would go to hell? Whereas a bad person who is Muslim will eventually go to heaven? And also if God is fair, why are only some people Born Muslim but others not?
