QUESTION: A few months ago, I began praying consistently, reciting the Quran, understanding its meanings, and reading hadiths. However, my mom sometimes taunts me, saying I only pray because I’m not good in anything else, don’t pray Fajr on time, and have “left things to Allah.” I’m unsure what the intention is, but it’s affecting me. What should I do?

ANSWER: You are paving your way directly to hellfire if you’re disrespectful and raise your voice in front of your parents! Ask for their forgiveness if you want Allah to forgive you!

QUESTION: My dad wants to take a loan from the bank for my sister’s schooling in Canada for a week then he’ll return the money and pay the interest but we told him it’s haram. ANSWER: Agreeing with him to avoid confrontation is not sinful. Obeying him and praying with your trousers below the ankle is sinful. You are also sinful for having them below the ankle even if you are not praying.

QUESTION: I know that the most authentic way of salah is doing raf ul yadain and placing the hands on the chest. My father once found me praying that way and repremanded me saying no one in our family prays or has ever prayed like that. Should I obey him or not?
