When I am driving and texting at the same time, and then I see a cop and put my phone down, is this shirk? (Since Allah was watching me I didn’t stop but for a cop I did…) this has been stressing me out a lot because sometimes I use my phone when I need to when driving.

ANSWER: This is not shirk but sinful as you are breaking the law of the land you’re living in and threatening the lives of others while bringing a bad name for muslims for being irresponsible.

In regards to Arafat, which expiates for the sins of the previous year and of the coming year. In regards to the coming year, does that equal whatever left of the year we fast Arafat on or includes whatever left of this year and also next year? So if we fast Arafat this 1443 year, if its accepted are sins forgiven for rest of 1443 and also next year 1444?!

ANSWER: Compare your deed with the many favors and blessings of Allah upon you and how little good deeds you have given! Also always be afraid that Allah may not have accepted your deeds.

If a person prays in masjid having smell of onion,garlic or cigarette in his mouth,will his salah be valid?

ANSWER: The salah is valid but he’s sinful for coming to the masjid smelling like that and offending the Angels!

Shaikh I want to ask what’s the ruling on gifting perfumes or clothes or heels shoes to women like if I give my friend these things and I say to her that don’t use these things outside and if she use them outside so will I’ll be sinful for that as I know that these things are only allowed in front of mahrams so what’s the ruling?

ANSWER: If you don’t know whether she will use it in haram or not, this is permissible. But if you are sure she will use it in haram, this is prohibited.

Recently my company terminated me. I had an agreement with the company where the company states that the end-of-service benefits are included in the Salary. However, as per the labor law it is illegal. My question is whether it is halal to claim the end of service benefits in the labor court or not. Which one is correct to follow the labor law or the agreement? Kindly advise

ANSWER: If it’s mentioned in your agreement that end service is included in your monthly salary and you signed on it then you cannot claim it through labor court. Their sin in disobeying the authorities doesn’t make it halal for you to take what is not yours again!

There is a Hadith where the Prophet was with the companions and 2 funerals passed by them (1 good and 1 bad), and in both cases the Prophet said “وجبت” because the people provided witness, My question is, In my country, if one raise hands during takbeer, keeps hand on their chest, they might think this is wrong and say bad things about the person’s after demise,

ANSWER: You have to follow the Sunnah no matter what the people might say or think. If the people of sins and innovation praise a deceased who was like them, do you think that he would be from the people of paradise due to their testimony? Of course not as their testimony is useless!

Is it from the sunnah to get up from the place to pray only when you see the imam even if the iqamah is given?

ANSWER: Of course you should cancel the wedding as you would want a practicing wife with correct aqeedah and a mother who would be a role model for your children who would instill Islamic values in them.
