QUESTION: What’s the ruling on marrying a 2nd wife if a person cannot even provide proper shelter, food, clothes for the first wife and his children, including their education? The wife does a job and BARELY manages house expenses. Is this permissible? If not, can I get ONLY 1 reference please? I need to show it.

QUESTION: Sheikh, If a woman earns and pays for the expenses of household, and do house chores, take care of children and her in-laws and man do nothing .doesn’t man have to do household and taking care of the children. Or it is still duty of the woman.

ANSWER: Her duty is to look after her house, husband and kids. It’s not her responsibility to chip in in the expenses so she can quit the job and be home and let her husband take care of the finances.

QUESTION: Have a mother who interferes in my wife’s life excessively as to when to have a child what clothes she must wear and what time she must wake up. She doesn’t let my wife pick out clothes she likes for an event and always has a complain about how it is not nice. She also complains that my wife never served/cooked my side of the family.
