Sheikh, in my office there is arrangement of distributing sweets/foods on the occasion of ‘eid-e-miladunnobi’. Or sometimes the management arranges a lunch. What should I do in this case? Note that we don’t need to donate any money.

ANSWER: No problem in eating halal food that is sent to you, without you participating in such events or gatherings.

ANSWER: The sunnah is to fast every alternate day. However, if this doesn’t curb your desire, you may fast more than that.

For friday prayer those who came to masjid early will eat a reward of qurban , the famous hadees, can you please eloborate this how it will be possible may be i have to go before 10 am to be first.

ANSWER: This cannot be stopped as this is beyond your control and something natural.

Sheikh, I wear full-sleeves, longer-lengthened dresses when attending congregational prayer. As my house is a bit far away from the masjid, so when I get there by walking, my clothes get wet due to excessive sweating. So, if I wear half-sleeve clothes like t-shirts along with jeans for prayer for comfort; will that be against the sunnah? Pls advise.

ANSWER: No problem in this whatsoever even if you wore these without any reason.

He wears normal clothes to pray at home but when he goes to masjid he wears nice clothes to show off or to look nice so he is doubtful about his intention,is he praying for the sake of Allah or not?

ANSWER: This is highly recommended for men when praying in masjid.

Ya sheikh, can I perform sujud syukr if the football team that I supported scores crucial goal to secured win in last minutes? Is it permissible or is it prohibited to do so?

ANSWER: This is not permissible as this is a form of mocking the rituals of islam and such a goal is a reoccurring event! One does this if Muslims freed an occupied land or someone who was dying survives etc.

Sheikh, this brother is soon going to arrange his walima soon in shaa Allah. now, a feast without the poor is the most despicable food right? so if he invites his aunt who lives in village and imaam and muazzin from mosque, they are poor. will this suffice?

ANSWER: No problem in not inviting the poor if this is not done out of arrogance. However, he should focus on inviting righteous people, regardless of their financial status.

I wanted to ask if a person has a brother or sister and rhey married to a non Muslim are their kids count as nephew and nieces or no ? Especially if a muslim women married a non Muslim man are her kids nephew and niece of the maternal side I know the relationship is invalid but what about the kids?

ANSWER: The children born out of wedlock of your sister are your kinship as she is their mother and gave birth to them! The children born out of wedlock of your brother are not related to neither him or you.

My extended family has been living in a apartment building. The building has a prayer room with an assigned imam employed by the building management.The prayer room is taken care of by the building management and All 5 prayers are done there in jama’ah. My question is is praying in the above prayer room same as praying in a masjid ? They’ve been there for decades assuming its same as masjid

ANSWER: The reward is not the same as a masjid as this hall can be changed by the owners into anything if they want. However, it is permissible to pray there in Sha Allah.
