I have only son(8 years old), I want to have another child but my husband strongly opposes to it. Are we in sin ?

I am divorcee with a 10 year old daughter. I got a proposal from a pious and practicing man (also a divorcee). He has a 17 year old son. The proposal is good, however, we were only considering, will my daughter and his son be Mahram to each other after our marriage? If not, do you suggest for this marriage to take place, since his son will live with us? Also, if we do get married and I bear children and if they are females, will they be Mahram to his son?

Your daughter is not a Mahram to the boy! If you were to get married, the girl must live with her father or be totally separated from the boy. Your future children are Mahram to both.

I wonder sometimes if I am a Muslim or a kafir.The reason is that I do not and cannot get along with any of my family. I know up holding the ties of kinship is something that Allah and His prophet have enjoined and I do not deny that doing the opposite is haraam, but still there is nothing in my heart that wants to get along with them, neither for the dunya nor for Allah’s sake.

This is not kufr but it is a major sin! You have to train yourself to live with your kinship as you have no other choice! The defect is in you and you must change!

I have an uncle who molested my older sis when she was a young girl and I was also molested at a young age by a cousin. Me and my sister can’t stand them by she doesn’t express it the way I do. When they are over at our place I tend to be cold and ignore them. I know it’s not right to behave such way but they were molesters. We should be nice but i mostly have a hard time being nice to them. I can’t stand them. I even told my father to never invite them if he cares about me and my sister. Was it wrong for me to tell him that?

Yes, it was wrong of you not say such a thing! Contacting your male cousins is prohibited in all cases as they are not your mahram! My husband prohibits me to use any social media(face book, twitter, what’s app etc) while he uses all of them… is he allowed to do so?

He is allowed to prohibit you from using them! As for him, this depends on how he uses them!

I’m about to give birth to a son InshaAllah. My all time favorite name is Adam, is it okay in islam to name your son after the prophet Adam?

No problem.

My husband and I have been married for 7 years now. We used to live together. After 5 years he got a job transfer, so we started living separatly. I am staying with his family. He usually comes after 8 to 10 months. When he came for the 1st time everything was ok and he went back again. When he came for the 2nd time, from no where I saw some text with a christian woman him having an affair. I asked for divorce but he refused and he said there is nothing going on now. I stayed because of my mother-in-law who at the same time is my grandmother, me and my husband we are related. Now he is back there again and I can see some change in him but am still worried maybe he is still cheating me. Please advise me how to control myself.

Such complications normally are seen when couples live apart. If you can somehow live with him, this will be great, however, in current situation, if you see change in him for good, you must bear patience with him and give him a chance. Make dua to Allah and seek His help and guidance.

is it a must on the son to take care of a mother who’s evil and if he brings her into his life she will destroy his marriage? because now she lives alone but still engages in the haram and lying, nameemah, fraud, etc… how to deal with such a case? and if he exposes her fraud, the mother will end up going to jail..

If she is this evil, you must not live with her and your wife in the same house! Try to check on her every now and then, be respectful and obedient and avoid anything that would bring harm to you or your family.

My family is being very harsh to me, so can I leave them. We are not understanding each other, and they are even creating problems between me and my father?

It isn’t allowed to sever the family ties. You should upkeep the ties of kinship. You can live in a separate place if you wish and afford and you are married. Leaving your parents when you are not married is not permissible.

My husband lived most days in my parents house as I don’t have any siblings. And his parents live with their married daughter in a same building. Now he wants me to live in a same building, but separate apartment with his mother. And his mother will live with her married daughter in a same apartment. But my parents will be alone. Should I obey him or insist him to live with my parents?
