my paternal grandfather changed the family name mullah to something else. this is the name my father,uncles etc. and i carry. Do we have to change it back

It is permissible to change the name to what it was before especially if you have relatives that still carry this name so that lineages would be recognized!

One of my neighbour has reverted to islam since 7yrs.she was a buddist and she came into islam bcos she loved a muslim n wanted to marry him.she is practicing islam now along with her husband in India but her parents think dat she is still a buddist.so when she goes to her country, she pretends as if she is buddist n listens to her parents bcos they will feel bad.now she is confused about wat is right and how to behave with her parents n how to inform them dat she is a muslim .and may be if she informs her relationship with them may break.how and wat shud she do?

She has no right in hiding her Islam! She is sinful and responsible for not calling her parents to Islam before they die! She must tell them and call them to this beautiful religion.

Is the name Inaya a Muslim name. Does it have a good meaning and is it permissible to keep that name for a girl.

It means “care” and it is an Arabic word but not famous of being a name of a person!

My mother doesn’t like my wife at all and always scolding and saying bad words to her and her family although i married from my mothers choice. she don’t like we go outside together.My mother is alone in india ,so i brought her in saudia through visit visa but she always wants my wife to stay with her in india. what shall i do? shall i send my wife to live with my mother in india? i am confused.

In some Pakistani families there is a trend that when a baby is born maternal grand parents hosts a party (inviting relatives for food) to celebrate the birth of a new baby. it is done few days after birth just once not yearly like birthday and it is other than Aqiqah. Are we allowed to follow this custom or it is completely against sharia.

If the mother asks her son not to do something halal thinking that it could cause harm (Simple example: “Don’t buy ice cream for the children” thinking that they would become sick) and his father asks him to buy it, who should the son listen to?

He should obey his father and not disobey his mother!

is making a video film allowed on weddings ,and can a relative cut ties with who do not stop making video films .could you please elaborate on which is big sin making wedding movies or cutting ties and asking close relatives to stop attending those weddings.the ones who are making also are close relatives.plz reply asap.

It is not permissible to make a video with women in it! However, this doesn’t call for cutting the ties as this is their sins and not yours! By this token, you will cut ties with relatives who shave their beards or have money in int set based banks!

A brother married a women who after marriage realized was a bad woman she got pregnant early and he couldnt divorce her, the woman raised her son & daughter badly, they are bad in personality character they pray salah and ibadah is ok but their character is bad like their mother, they have no respect, bad tongue temper what should the brother do to to fix them

He has to work hard on both of them and their mother! Be kind, tolerant, give them quality time and spend time with them everyday. This had all happened because he ran away from these problems instead of facing them and trying to solve them!

I am a bit confused and need some help. Basically I named; Zaynab Bint Faisal Ahmed and this is now on her birth certificate. Now I was told is should have been ‘Ibnah’ and not ‘Bint’. So what is the official way to put it on the birth certificate. Also for a boy would it be ‘Bin’ or ‘Ibn’ Please clarify Usthad, so if I need to change it I will do it straight away

Bint is the right thing.

I have a cousin who was adopted, but I am not sure whether my aunt breastfed him or not. Am I allowed to refer to him as “family?”
