I don’t love kids naturally but I want to be a good father. What can I do to increase my love for children?

ANSWER: Give them hugs and kisses, try to express your feeling by saying ‘ I love you’, bring them things they love, be fair with them, treat them in a kind way, do not shout at them with no reason, and teach them Qur’an and Sunnah.

Sheikh how do I tell my mum if she is treating me unfairly? I am the middle child and I feel like my mother is neglecting me and treats me unfairly? She visits her friends when I am in a bad state.

ANSWER: He is required to provide for his wife and children and must spend on his parents if they are needy! No one has a share in his earning and income as this is entirely his!

My dad always says to me to not to watch videos which has music. i fully cover,he says to me to cover Alhumdullilah i cover my self for Allah. . But my dad himself gets so mixed with his cousins and aunties. Which is making me negative. He is stopping me from thing but doing himself. And if i stop or say to him to sit seperately with men only. His ego comes in. How to handle such situations.

ANSWER: You must not listen to her in this regard as there’s no obedience to the created at the cost of disobeying the Creator. Explain in the most respectful manner to her that you cannot attend and that she should not allow your sister to attend as well.

I know that we are not supposed to obey parents when they call us towards sin, but what about if they stop us from performing good deeds or keep us restrained to the point that we are not able to become better and useful Muslims? Especially, because we will be questioned about our potential, but if our parents stop us then what must be done?

ANSWER: You must not obey them in these regards as long as these good deeds are not preventing you from doing what they need. however you must not be disrespectful to them nor argue with them.

sheik i hav read d hadith tht parents shld do justice wth both child. shld nt give a seperate gift to 1 child. i hav seen many ppl.like wenever they keep food they keep few extra to gents thn girls saying gents need extra power. is it valid acc to islam or strictly prohibited tht evn in food we shld keep properly to sons and daughters & evryone shd have equal amt in famly

ANSWER: This depends on their actual need. The food I keep for a 4 year child is different than the food I keep for an adult!

The teacher of my son asked us to buy a mobile for him to use in ICT class.Now all kids have groups where they chat.He is studying with girls though they are fully covered and this school follows Islamic curriculum and only school for expats.I check my son’s mobile for sms from time to time to make sure he isn’t chatting about bad things or he has good company.Will I be sinful?

ANSWER: No, you will not be sinful as it’s your duty to monitor your children’s activities. However, you must make it clear to them that you will be doing this so that they wouldn’t be taken by surprise.

thr is a lady who humiliate her daughter who is very religious and she insults her daugter infront of all and she is ungreatful towards her daughters efforts,as the daughter fears Allah n is good towards her mom but she insults bout her hijab salah n she tels everything against islam n keeps on embarassing her infront f al how to deal with such a charcterless mother ? also she constantly lies lot.
