I want to start an online business whereby i upload products from … …….(NB: with their permission because i got the API from them), add my profit and sell them. My question is: is this business permissible because i dont have any product in my possession. I just resell them.

ANSWER: If you don’t possess the product, you can’t sell what you don’t own. The only permissible way is for the mother company that owns the product to allow you to sell it on their behalf for a specific price and give you a percentage from that as their agent or marketing person.

Sometimes in malls they have events like if we hang in rod for 100 secs we will get some amount as price. We as muslim can participate in such events? Do they come under the category of gambling?

ANSWER: If you participate without paying money to participate then this is permissible. But if you pay something to participate, this is clear gambling.

Our family went to stay at a hotel recently. The younsters brought back things with them like mugs, towels etc is it stealing from the hotel? Tell me what to do with it?

ANSWER: This is haram you must return them back to the hotel. If this is not possible due to it being in another country, estimate its worth and give it to charity.

I eat food with my right hand, but I was wondering if some food happens to touch the left, is it permissible to lick this off? For instance, if I’m cooking, and some sauce or oil gets on my left hand, can I simply lick this off? Or if I’m eating a sandwich and have to hold it with both hands, and the ketchup spills out and gets on my left fingers, is it permissible to lick it off?

ANSWER: No problem in licking it as this is not eating, and Allah knows best.

I don’t believe it is permissable to eat from silver unentils (spoon/fork/knife) What does it mean by silver? Anything that looks silver/shiny in colour? Or is it the material it is made from?

ANSWER: Silver which is prohibited to eat in is the metal itself. Having the color without the metal is permissible to use.

ANSWER: In case you are certain that they will take the hair to use it for cancer patients then this is permissible,but in case these organizations are not trusted and you have doubts that they will use it for other purposes then this is prohibited.

Sheikh, is it permissible to say ” ya nabi salam alayka” as we hear in many naats etc.

ANSWER: This is not permissible. Prophet salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam said that a woman who believes in Allah and the day of judgment must not travel without her male mahram.
