Please kindly explain what is the right way to pray witr. In a masjid I went to, it was two units first, a tasleem and then we got up for the one unit. In another masjid, the imam just prayed the three continuously without Tashahud In between. Which is the correct way of praying it

ANSWER: Both are correct. What is not permissible is to pray witr like maghrib by sitting in the tashahhud after two rakahs and to get up and pray a third rakah like Maghrib.

I am from Bangladesh. Our shaikhs often told us that if someone like a son touches his mother with intimacy, that makes the relationship haram between his father and mother. They also said that if my father touches my wife with intimacy, then she will be prohibited for me. Is it true?

ANSWER: This is absolutely false and such people who say this don’t have knowledge in either the Quran or sunnah!

I am from pakistan in my village imam told us that taraweeh is 20rakah and its compulsory to pray 20 not 8.if some1 is praying 8 it is not acceptable and on the day of judgement he will b punished bcoz he prayed 8raka not 20.can u pls explain with daleel that i will show him your massage with daleel.

ANSWER: What he has said is absolutely baseless and wrong, he is talking without knowledge.

I am a revert and I was told Shirk is the greatest sin in Islam and Allah forgives all sins except Shirk. Also that whoever commits shirk will never enter Jannat. During jahiliyah I committed shirk does it mean the records of shirk are still in my book despite me embracing Islam?

ANSWER: Allah forgives all sins, including shirk as long as the person sincerely repents to Allah while showing deep remorse. However, if a person dies without repenting from shirk, this is what Allah doesn’t forgive and that person is doomed in hell forever.

I know we should make up missed fast then the shawaal as per the hadith to get reward but some say as aisha r.a delayed missed fast so it is permissible to makeup missed fast after shawal fast to get reward of 1yr fasting .can u elaborate this particular Hadith regarding shawal fast& their logic?

ANSWER: Mother Aisha’s delaying her missed days of Ramadan till Shaaban means that she didn’t fast the 6 days of shawwal.

Is it permissible to have a plaque on a grave to identify the person and what is permissible to be inscribed on it. Can we have dates they passed away and some form of religious Quran text as well as loving husband or father. Does it have to be limited to just the name?

ANSWER: No problem in having a headstone with deceased name for identifying the grave but it’s totally prohibited to inscribe or write ayahs of Quran on the stone or to resemble the way of the Christians by using marble or the likes for decoration!

Shaikh raising hand and giving salutations on prophet during qunoot of witr is prefer or not,bcoz it is not proven from Prophet ﷺ but it is proven from other sahabi?

ANSWER: It’s the sunnah to raise hands in qunoot.

Does celebrating birthdays make one out of the fold of islam while knowing that the root of celebrating birthday is from some shirk origin(for example the pagan origin, roman origin or kafirs did it for pharaoh etc)? I mean, after knowing all the roots, if someone celebrates birthday following their whims and desire, does they become out of the fold of islam?

ANSWER: This does not take them out of the fold of Islam but it’s sinful as Prophet salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam forbade us from imitating the disbelievers.
