Sheikh in Bangladesh touching feet of elders considered to be great etiquette! but i know that it is not allowed in islam!but my mother is upset with me because i dont want to do this and the elders will also criticise our family if we dont touch their feet i assume that!so can i just touch their feet keeping my head higher, pls guide me what to do in this situation?

This is not permissible. There’s no pleasing or obedience to anyone at the cost of disobedience to Allah.
