A Muslim had given a loan of Rs.5000 to his Muslim Miskeen maid. She is not able to return the loan. Can he help her by giving Rs. 7000/- from the Zakat Money and ask her to return the loan of Rs.5000/- Can this, Give & Take transaction take place simultaneously.

ANSWER: It’s not permissible to put a condition like this. You can give her the zakat and it’s her choice if she wants to return your money with that zakat money.

If, after standing up for a third rakhat I think that I have not read tashahud or that I missed second prostration shall I go back to sitting position and read tashahud/ perform prostration . Or I carry on my salat and do two prostrations of forgetfulness before the Salam.

ANSWER: You can’t go back to the tashahud after standing up for the 3rd rakah. Simply offer sujood assahu before salam.

ANSWER: No problem if it’s approved by your doctor though I wouldn’t recommend it as it causes a lot of disturbance in the menses and many women take them yet still suffer from menses during the period they want it to stop!

In a recent sisters’ halaqah, a question was raised about reciting the Qur’an from a smart devise when travelling to work and back and continuing the recitation in the Mushaf when at home, will this count as a khatam of the Qur’an or should one only recite in the Mushaf or smart devise to benefit from a khatam/completion of the Qur’an. ANSWER: No problem in reciting from the apps on a mobile phone or tablet and continuing it on a mus’haf as this is still Quran and a full khatm.

ANSWER: His has committed minor kufr. If he repents and shows remorse, Allah will forgive him.

I use onion water for my hair treatment, i wash it properly with shampo though i smell of onion sometimes. Will my prayers be valid?

ANSWER: The prayer is valid in all cases. The issue is that you can’t go to the masjid if the smell is found and annoys worshippers.

Based on your website and videos I have concluded that it is bid’ah to raise the hands and make dua after prayer as this is the time for Dhikr. However, let us say I want to make dua after Asr on Friday as the time between Asr and Maghrib on Friday is a time for dua. Should I not raise my hands during this time? When can I raise my hands and make dua?

ANSWER: You can raise your hands at that time as this is a time of answering. You are doing that not because it is after fard prayer but rather because it is the last hour of Friday.

ANSWER: A wife is not a slave! She is not obliged to obey the husband in everything he tells her unless it is related to his rights as a husband such as in the way she looks etc. If he tells her to stand and not to sit, she is not obliged to obey him!

To get protected from evil eye we can say to a Muslim to say Allaahumma barik after he praises me, what I can do if a non-Muslim praises me?

ANSWER: You can’t do anything! As long as you are maintaining your athkar, there is nothing for you to fear as you are protected with the grace of Allah.
