Sheikh, there are so many lizards in my home which tend to annoy me and my family members. They also occasionally come near the food plates and roam around in our kitchen. They also comes in our clothes closest. I want to ask, are we allowed to kill them?

ANSWER: Yes, infact, you are rewarded for killing them as it is highly recommended.

Just after marriage I lent my husband a big amount of money which he said he would pay back in 2 years but has paid nearly nothing of it back and it has been almost 3 years now. ANSWER: If he is unable to pay you back, you must be patient and wait till his conditions are better. But if he is able to pay you back, it is your right to demand your money back from him.

My parents has been divorced and dont live together and dont have contact with him for a period of time as we fear fitnah. I want to marry a woman and her family and my family is pleased except his father. He wants to contact my father to see how he is. I know by this there will be fitnah again and cause problems. I wanted to know. Is her father acting correctly even if pleased by my imaan ?

ANSWER: It’s his right to see the family he is giving his daughter in. If a man is not in contact with his own father, most likely he won’t honor anything else in life and such a person can’t be a practicing Muslim when he knows that his father is his middle gate to paradise!!

When praying behind an imam in loud prayers can we say the fatiha with him in very low voice? Or is it better not to say it at all as there is no time to say it after him because he starts the second sourat straight away?

ANSWER: It’s totally prohibited to recite fateha along with imam in loud rakahs! You must attentively listen to him without reciting anything.

Sheikh before reciting the surah fatiha in salah when we recite the opening dua, should we just recite one like subhanlaka humma wabi hamdika… or can we recite more than one if we know it?

In second row, if I see a brother on far right alone in second row because first row is full. Do I stand behind Imam as it is mentioned or do I join the brother in far right ?

Sir if we forget to keep the intention or not sure whether we kept the intention can we leave the prayer and restart again when praying alone?

ANSWER: No. When you make wudu and stand for prayer, that is your intention in itself.

Have a LOT of old clothes 2 give away Alhumdulillah. They r taking up too much space n cluttering d house. Bt cannot giv them away bcoz of wot u said: 1. Pictures on them (I tried painting, it’s exhausting n didn’t work) 2. Female clothes hv hijab issues lik short sleeves etc. Can female clothes b given away by asking d person to not wear it infront of non-mehram? If not,wot 2 do?

ANSWER: Do not give away the ones with photos. As for the females dresses, you can give it away and assume that the poor accepting it would wear it in front of their husbands.

My sister is having her wedding next month InshaAllah and she is willing to not cover her head during the function. The event will be completely segregated and we will put up signs and notices prohibiting photography. I would like to know in case someone manages to snap a picture would we be held accountable for it ? What is your recommendation for such an event ?

ANSWER: You must not allow them to carry the phones in the hall. There are security ladies that have metal detectors and prevent anyone from bringing their phones with them.

Is it obligatory or recommended to recite surahs in descending order in the consecutive raqahs of namaz?

ANSWER: You can recite any surahs you like. It’s not mandatory to maintain the sequence.
