QUESTION: Who’s Makki Al Hijazi, he gives lectures in urdu in al haram (makkah), and he tells wazaif for different problems.his clips are available on YouTube.He says read some parts of surah kahf, blow on yourself and sleep. and you will get up for tahajjud and he said read verse 58 of surah Najm , read 1001 times and blow on water, drink from it and people get healed from cancer. are such wazifa allowed?

ANSWER: I don’t know of such a person and I doubt that he teaches in the masjid of Haram in Makkah as only those who are qualified would teach there and what you mentioned are all innovations and baseless.

ANSWER: Standing up while drinking zamzam was done by the prophet salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam but not as a sunnah for it. Facing the qibla is when one wants to make duaa.
