The money given for renting the wedding events is used for the masjid which is why people think it’s okay. Some also claim that it is the same as a home where you pray and also play music or have parties. So my question is, is it permissible?

ANSWER: It is not permissible to hire regular places for weddings with music or other haram practices, let alone an area in the masjid. This is outrageous.
