ANSWER: It is not permissible to take a commission when you are working for one of the two parties as this is conflict of interest and you would be accepting a bribe and not a commission.

QUESTION: I am a student who got a trainee job. My work is not linked with anyone and I get tasks to train myself. The contract says to do 8 hours per day on office. The work is very easy for me and I finish it in 1-2 hours then I am free for the day having nothing to do and sit free all day. If I complete my tasks early or from home for the day and have nothing to do, is my income haram if i leave earlier.

ANSWER: If the work is task based then you can leave but if its stipulated in your contract that you must stay for the whole session then you can’t go home until the time is up
