This is usually used for sahabas whose father’s were also Prophet’s ﷺ companions and both their names are mentioned in the hadeeth. 

QUESTION: “May Allah be pleased with him and his father / have mercy on him and his father “…these terms are commonly heard. What about the mother? We dont hear about the mother. Is she excluded from the pleasure and mercy of Allah?
