While praying in jama’, what should I do if I am reciting al-Fatihah and I am a bit slow, so the Imam goes to rukoo’ and gets up from the rukoo’ before I have a chance to make rukoo’? Have I exited from the jama’ or can I still continue with the Imam?

While fasting we often rinse our mouth with water either for the purpose of wudhu or simply to clean our mouth. The question is regarding the humidity or even water that might remain even after spitting the water out and now you have gotten out of the bathroom; in case you swallow it, is your fasting still OK?

Asalaam Alaikum Sheikh, My husband cares for his mother who is very aged and an invalid. Sometimes she gets stubborn and doesn’t want to eat so he has to be a bit loud and / or firm with her, for her own good, because if she doesn’t eat well, she can’t sleep well due to hunger. Asalamo alaikum. I have had health issues relating to my blood. I am constantly losing blood and my hemoglobin count is very low. Due to this, I become very weak. I try my best to fast but after a couple days, I fall ill. Am i excused from fasting or do I still have to try and continue? This morning I got up for suhoor,I was in the bathroom before fajr time when I was rinsing my mouth,I was trying to swallow something left over as I wasn’t clear if it was possible to take out.so I thought that action ruined my intention and I said whatever I’ll just renew my intention when I got out fajr had entered so for sure all this happened after athan by couple minutes. I am on medication I have to take every 12hrs, the doctor says its a lifetime medication. I cant fast ramadan because the hours of fasting are 17. Can I make ramadan up durning the winter hrs when the days are short enough?

Assalamu alaikum, If the medication is truly this needed to be taken in such interval, this is permissible. However, I very much doubt that you can’t take it at sunset and before the break of dawn only in Ramadan. Check with another doctor.
