ANSWER: He is sinful for not contacting them. He should go and be dutiful and respectful to them but must not reply to their abuse or defend you or your family. Let them talk as if they are crazy talking to themselves without replying to them.

QUESTION: I went to the bank to change my money in notes to coins to be used for sadaqah, or personal spending. For example, I would like to change $50 notes to $50 in fifty cent coins. However, the bank is charging additional fee for this. Is this consider riba?
