I wonder if muslims can join internet sites to get married? If you don’t know any muslims in your life is it permissible to join these kind of sites? As a convert it is usually very difficult to fit in and usually we feel lonely and like outsiders.

ANSWER: You can definitely enroll in these matrimonial sites providing they work according to the shariah, without involving any haram things like exchanging photos of girls or haram meetings etc. It is best that you approach different Islamic centers and talk the community about your wish to find a good practicing spouse.

Shaykh nikkah with less financial burden has barakah.Is this true? What if the bride wants it simple but her own family is not complying?

ANSWER: A sensible and wise man would never do that. If the husband says such a thing, an intelligent wife wouldn’t react and let it pass.

husband is stingy and always reminds me that i am ungrateful.he says he does’nt have money but he is a doctor in USA. he lies and i caught his lie. i tried reminding of religious obligations and he got angry asked me to go back. i was packing my stuff, he came for a fight.i kept quiet so he held my wrists forcefully. i retaliated by hitting after which he hit me and now im bruised. what to do.

Sheikh, I signed up for a matrimonial profile on ……… and it asked me questions about my prayers and fastings, i.e. it has multiple choices to choose that you pray/fast the obligatory/voluntary prayers/fasting or not. ANSWER: Try to keep advising him and reminding him about the moment of death, fullfill his desires, and exhaust him in bed, then he will not think about any other relation outside the marriage, make Duaa to Allah to guide him to the right path. If he doesn’t change, you can seek divorce from him.

If a husband does not keep any kind of marital relationship with wife but also doesn’t want to divorce. He just stays in the same house and pays only the mortgage, and wife pays for food and all other bills. Is wife sinner as she can’t respect him or serve him per Islam commands?
