We are searching groom for my sister. People around us are asking photos of my sister with her head uncovered. But as per our knowledge, it is not permissible. Please advice me whether it is permissible to send such photos to boy’s family?

ANSWER: This is not permissible as women must not be filmed or photographed. You must not give them a picture of her even with her head covered!

Here in the uk it seems in order to have the nikkah a civil marriage certificate must be done first. Is this ok in islam? My concern is mainly the order in which one should be done first.

ANSWER: You must not cut ties of kinship with them. You should at least give them Salam whenever you meet and keep the conversation limited to phone calls once in a while, presuming these are mahram relatives.
