ANSWER:

You must not get affected by such remarks as Allah has created everyone beautiful and its the religious commitment that makes a person shine. 

As for acquiring a job, this doesn’t guarantee anything and if it’s a mixed place then it’s forbidden for women to work there.
Have complete faith in Allah and keep making dua during times of acceptance, such as in salah in your sujood, in the last tashahud, before making salam, between Azaan and iqama, during the last third of the night, begging Allah until He opens the door and answers your dua. 

May Allah grant you a righteous husband and make you the coolness of his eyes. 

My family thinks that as I have a dark complexion (synonymous to being ugly), I’m not likely to get married that easily so the only wise option left for me is to get a job. Only then i would be able to get any decent proposal based on my job status. But I really don’t want to opt for job and would rather stay at home pursuing my desire to study deen. This type of criticism is making me bitter.
