ANSWER: No problem whatsoever in this.

Can the potential husband and wife be alone in a room with the door open and the female-only family members of each family sitting in another room, talking amongst themselves? Can the man continue looking at the woman when talking, after he finds that he is attracted to her? What about the woman? What other boundaries must be set?

ANSWER: The potential suitor must talk to the woman in the presence of her male guardian in the initial interview conducted by him. Being alone with him is not permissible. During this interview, it is permissible to look at one another and talk to one another.

May ALLAH reward you for the work your doing. A boy came with his father and met my family for marriage and we all accepted but when he confronted his mom she refused because she looks down upon my nationality. Please advice what can we do. Should be try to convice her or he can marry my without her acceptence.

ANSWER: He should try to convince her. He can marry you without his parents approval. The approval of the girl’s father (wali) is mandatory and not his but i wouldn’t recommend he gets married without her blessings. He should try his best to convince her.

Someone I am really close to is asking about a sister they want for marriage for her brother. She wants in depth detail about her past that I know. However I am not sure if I should say it to her or not. Im also not sure how the sister is now if she’s changed or the same as before. Do I say what I know about her or stay quite.

ANSWER: Muslim men are allowed to marry only chaste women from among the Jews or Christians who do not have boyfriends or extramarital relationships. However nowadays, this is not recommended as many of them divorce their Muslim husbands after few years, taking the custody of the children and turning them into Christians!

ANSWER: There is no such thing in Islam. This is part of the kafir tradition and Muslims must not follow them.

What if a girl has received two marriage proposals. Her parents want her to go with one while she likes the other. Parents basing their decision on wealth. And then parents shame you that your life in this world and next would be destroyed if you don’t obey your parents. And that only marriages done in accordance with parent’s will have barakah.
