ANSWER: There is no specific dua for this. Make istikhara once you have made a firm decision and if there is any good in it for you, Allah will facilitate it for you.

I think presented my question wrongly. I am very aware of Surah 24:30.But I am confused that you said one can only look at a girl at the initial meeting. I thought if one is quite sure that the marriage will go through, one can look at the girl to make him go ahead based on the hadith of Jabir ibn Abdillah and others.Did is misunderstand the ahadith or what is the evidence that I am wrong?

ANSWER: A doctor is permitted to look at awrah only for a legitimate reason and at a specific place. Likewise, a man who wants to marry a woman, he proposes and he looks at her in the interview. Further looking is transgression and must not be done.

I am planning my wedding and i want to how to do it step by step according to sunnah of Prophet s.a.w.w. & what practices should not be done. I also want to explain that i am strictly against dowry & against bride’s family spending money during the wedding but my father in law wishes to give things to his daughter & also wants to welcome guests with food from his pocket.

ANSWER: No problem in your father in law giving gifts to his daughter and this would be entirely her possessions. And no problem in him inviting and spending on his guests for the wedding, this is his choice.

Shiek my father has given some amount after dividing his property. ANSWER: This is your own money and you can utilize it however you want and your husband has no right over it. You want to buy a property, this is your right and you don’t have to tell him about it.

In my society the weddings often result in Ladies taking pictures of the bride and sharing it to anyone including men. I dream to make my own wedding an opportunity to show my society that weddings can be inexpensive. I wish to have my Nikah done in a mosque and gift all the guests sweets (Nikah n Walima together). Can I ask a simple nikah plus waleema as My Mahr? Is it allowed?

ANSWER: Mahr should be in cash or gold or anything material, like plot etc. There is no problem to ask the groom for a simple waleemah in the house.
