ANSWER: Names do not have any impact on our lives and believing this superstition can easily mount to shirk. However we’re encouraged to give good names, with good meanings to our kids. Only one name must be given to a child and not two.

ANSWER: This is permissible, if the mother doesn’t mind the casualness and informality. However, there is a thin line between disrespect and being causal with her. Besides, sometimes you would cross the line without paying any attention to that which might win you the wrath of Allah.

I had a haram relationship before my reversion to Islam. I had cut off all the relation with the guy nd repented sincerely. In future if my husband ask me whether I had any relation in past, should I tell the truth or hide it?

ANSWER: You are not allowed to disclose your past sins to anyone! If anyone asks, act offended by such a question. Allah has forgiven and concealed all of your previous sins. Who is he to ask you about them now?

There is a hadith that there is shifa in surah fatiha. So can i recite surah fatiha and blow on sick persons for cure, while the person is not able to recite or when they are asleep?

I fear that I wont be able to implement every verse I come across and thus have the Quran be a proof against me. This fear prevents me from reading the Quran and it makes me sad because there were many times I wanted to increase in reading a lot of Quran. Is this fear legit/correct. How can I solve this problem?

Can you kindly post a ruling on sisters posting photos of themselves on social media when they have Male followers on their platform, for.eg. non mahram such as colleagues, school mates etc. Pictures are not necessarily provocative or sexual but display appearance even with hijab on for e.g. How haram is this and does this defeat purpose of wearing hijab if men are able to access?

Married for 14 yrs.Husb gave nafkah only for 1st year of marriage&stop till today.Reminded him its a must to give wife nafkah but he didn’t care.He went for counselling with an ustadz but still refuses to give nafkah.I’ve been working 14 years&all my money is used to help him with kids&financial.Once in 3 months I’ll take abit from my salary to buy my necessaties.What should I do?

ANSWER: You must not spend anything. You must not give any money to your husband. It is his responsibility to take care of you and to provide for you and your children. You can take him to court if he has money and refuses to give.

If I am married to a woman who is not virgin but was regarded to be virgin before the marriage what should I do? Should I inform her family that she was not virgin or should I keep it a secret and continue with the marriage?

ANSWER: Most women lose their virginity due to playing sports or riding bicycles etc. Other girls don’t break the hymen from the first few attempts. Therefore, one must not be haste and assume things that have no basis to it. You have sisters and would have daughters in the future.

Can you take off your hijab because of a problem that is caused by wearing a headscarf ?? I have a problem with my scalp, namely, I have an atopic dermatitis and very sensitive skin which got very worse when I started to wear hijab (when I revert 5years ago) the doctor ordered to remove it because there is no air under my scarf.

ANSWER: This is not permissible as women are ordered by Allah to abide by the proper hijab. Tomorrow if doctors would say you have a skin disease, would they advise you to wear a bikini? Stay home until you are fully recovered.
