When do we pray the duhr salat during friday.My mother says that we should pray after my brother returns from masjid,also they forbid me to pray during friday khutbah.I’d like to mention that we Don’t go to the masjid.

ANSWER: You can pray dhuhr as soon as the time for dhuhr enters, regardless of when the khutbah has started or when they pray Friday prayer in the masjid. Congregation at the masjid has got nothing to do with your prayer at home.

ANSWER: This is totally prohibited and this is not a valid nikah at all but its mocking of Allah’s rules! And if you live together or have intimacy, this is zina and both are bound to hell fire for such a major sin and for mocking Allah’s religion like this.

I know it’s haram to cook food for 3 days in a home if a member has passed away.My mom’s sibling passed away.He lived along with my granny & my other uncle.So,is it haram for me to eat food cooked in my home although I live in a seperate home & not with my granny for 3 days?And can I go to my granny’s place & eat the food that is sent there by the relatives?

ANSWER: We are allowed to mourn for up to 3 days but there is no prohibition on cooking. Sending them food so that they don’t cook in these 3 days is from the sunnah.

I’ve read that in islam there is no restriction of age for intercourse,puberty is enough, but where i live there’s this idea of people over 18 shouldn’t be with those under 18,and i’ve grown up with this,so now i’m struggling,for example if i see a female under 18 i may feel bad(because of people around)and stop looking at her even though she’s lawful to marry, is this Kufr?

ANSWER: This is not kufr! It’s sinful to look at non mahram women like this whether below or above 18 years of age as Allah has ordered you to lower your gaze!

Sheikh when i do wudu and rub my fingers through the beard, non muslims around me stare at me and i get uncomfortable because of that. So if i do it in a way that they don’t stare at me, is it shirk?

ANSWER: This is not shirk however, it may be a weakness of Islam. Be proud of your Islam and make wudu normally! Who cares who is watching or what they say? When they walk nude, do they care of what you think of them?

I am from turkey and here, they don’t wait for people at all after they give the adhan of maghrib, and if I am sitting in my home and I hear the adhan and go to the masjid, I will most likely catch one rakah only if I go fast or I will miss the whole prayer, so what should I do when I hear the maghrib adhan in my house? Should I go or make a jamah in my house?

ANSWER: Leave earlier before the athan is called. This is what you usually do when you have a flight! You don’t wait until the gates are closed but rather go early.

A friend of mine is currently in his friend circle where his friends are mostly involved in backbiting and using abusive language. Sheikh, when I speak with some people here, they have the habit to make du’a on others as a joke.. Like for example if you say something funny, they laugh and say: May Allah ruin you. Or may you be handicapped. I don’t like it when they say this to me… Are their du’as accepted?
