Someone asked me the following question: “Considering the fact that when we’re dreaming we don’t realize that we’re dreaming, how can we be sure that our lives is not a dream and that we should indeed follow a religion?” I know this life is real but I’m not sure how to answer this question. ANSWER: No, you must not. Zakat should be given to poor and needy Muslims in cash. Such people will be encouraged to take more loans depending that the likes of you will give them zakat.

sheikh…i know when we pray in the congregation the suthra is the imam..but when the ladies pray in the upper floor following the same imam in the downfloor in tharaeeh …in this what is the suthra…do we need to keep anything for the suthra to avoid the children roam in between us?

ANSWER: If they’re still in your name, you must sell them off and take only the money that you got it for and give away anything extra if you get, to the poor muslims. You should not let your mum keep them as they’re on your name and the sin will be on you.

I used to play a certain video game based in greek and norse mythology for entertainment purposes and I was wondering if this constituted hypocrisy or mockery of my religion as it relates to me being a muslim and would this nullify my islam or would i just be sinful for wasting time?

ANSWER: You will be sinful without doubt. Whether it nullifies your islam or not, this is debatable.

During Ramadan I pray taraweeh at home and usually I extend my Quran recitation. So my throats become sore and dry. Is it permissible after giving salam for the two units of Salat to drink water and after resume the Salat?

ANSWER: No problem in this whatsoever. You can even drink coffee or tea.

If there is no Ahle hadeeth mosque near our house which is located very far but near our house is Tabligh mosque and they give azaan 4 to 5 minutes after the Time chart given to us by the ahles hadeeth mosque for breaking the fast. What should we do? Follow the chart or follow the azaan? Which is right?

My zakat is due. I was wondering who to give to. This is my first zakat. I have a maid whose husband cant find work. They have 2 kids. And they have loans. Can i give them my zakat?

ANSWER: Zakat is given to a poor or needy Muslim in the form of cash. If your maid is classified as poor or needy, you can give them from your zakat, however, you must not assist them with paying any interest based loans.

Can v pray tahajjud after praying witr in masjid with imaam?

ANSWER: No problem. However you must not repeat Witr after your tahajjud as there’s only one witr per night.
