QUESTION: I wanted to ask about making du’a after praying the 2 rakaat behind Maqaam Ibrahim during Umrah. I was recently advised by a friend that this is not from the Sunnah as the Prophet ﷺ used to continue his Umrah after praying here and did not make du’a. I wanted to ask what is the validity of this and is it okay if I make du’a occasionally after these 2 rakaat

ANSWER: This is not from the sunnah. You can make all the duaa you want while doing tawaf or during sa’ee

ANSWER: You can simply say thank you. No problem in eating halal food sent to you on their birthdays, even cake, without you participating in such functions or gatherings.

QUESTION: I just want to know if I forgive my going to be spouse’s past where she fell in haraam doings and accept her.. Will I be rewarded from Allah for it? I’m afraid to break her heart as I feel her honesty and love for me? Note: she said all her past from her own without me asking it.

ANSWER: Yes, you will be rewarded for that. She was wrong in telling you what Allah has concealed. However, you must never bring this topic up again if you want Allah to reward you.

QUESTION: I always forgive everyone who wronged me and try to remove grudge and hatred towards everyone before going to sleep and also say istigfar and ask Allah for forgiveness. Is this from the sunnah and authentic?

ANSWER: This is not from the sunnah but it is not a big deal to forgive others before going to bed.

QUESTION: My friends have photos of me on their phones. I think my photos are safe there and no non-mahram will see it, but I saw your video in which you said that the phone has a chance of being stolen or hacked etc. so it is not recommended for women to take photos. So am I sinful if I don’t ask my friends to delete photos of me?

QUESTION: Some people do Nikah on a day and Valima on the next immediate day and they have feasts for both. But I was told that only Valima feasts is from Sunnah and that Nikah feasts is not from Sunnah. So should we not attend Nikah feasts, sheikh?
