QUESTION: Our ustadh has long taught our Islamic studies classes with sincerity, patience, and great dedication despite his busy schedule, and has recently refused any payment for his time and effort. We wish to gift him a sadaqah jariyah project, keeping it secret so he never knows, as a surprise for him on the Day of Judgment. ANSWER: It is not permissible to sell and cut off your Muslim brother by going to his buyer and telling him that you can sell it cheaper so that he stops dealing with him and buys it from you! No Muslim would behave in such a fashion and betrays his Muslim brother like this!

QUESTION: If a person’s parents give their zakah to an organization they fully trust where the organization’s founder is known to be Deobandi that, is it alright for this person to give them his zakah or must he look elsewhere, where he wants to know if his parents’ trust towards this organization is a justification for him to give his zakah to that organization.
