Two friends of mine (one female and one male) are seeing each other, they have plans to getting married as soon as my (male) friend graduates and gets estabilished.They suddenly come to know that the Girlfriend and Boyfriend relationship is strictly forbidden. They already like each other and refuse to accept any proposal from any third party, now what should they do?

They shoukd repent to Allah and ask Him for forgiveness. They should wait until they can get married but they should not communicate at all as they are strangers.

By definition, a major sin is any sin that Allah has cursed those doing it, threatened them with hellfire or arranged a prescribed punishment in this world for such a sin.

If we do not celebrate birthday but some friends wish the birthday person (like bday wishes by sms etc) or by giving gifts to that person, is it permissible to do so? Or should we avoid the birthday wishes and gifts as well?

You should thank them and tell them that in Islam, it is not permissible to celebrate birthdays. However, it is permissible to accept their gifts as the Prophet salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam used to accept gifts.

Your oath was that the punishment of adultery is not the hardship you are getting and this is not true. The punishment of adultery is far worse.

There are lots of shops that sell alcohol which are owned by muslim people, are we allowed to trade with them? ie buy any items from there shops.
