Making that day an anniversary that is celebrated every year or 5 or 10 years is not permissible as this would be imitation the non Muslims and it would resemble celebrating Eid.

If this is a onetime occasion and you want to only celebrate the success of the business and not to do that every year, I hope that this is permissible.

Sheikh, is it permissible for a business man to celebrate the opening of his new store by invite few friends over for some light dinner?

If we do not celebrate birthday but some friends wish the birthday person (like bday wishes by sms etc) or by giving gifts to that person, is it permissible to do so? Or should we avoid the birthday wishes and gifts as well?
