Shirk and its different forms

There is a hadith which says that only Allah knows in which cloud it will rain from.if one believes men knows it. About the hadith he says Allah knows best. Does this belief take one away from Islam?

I don t know of such a hadeeth. The ayah is clear that only Allah is able to make rain fall down! Believing that others can bring rain other than him is shirk.

Sheikh my question is believing dead man can listen is major shirk?

This is not shirk, as it is an issue of dispute.

Will any harm come on me if I destroy any taweez chich I am using long days? What are the correct procedures to get rid of taweez.

Say bismiallah and burn them completely. You can also be reciting Ayat Al Kursi on it and the last 3 surah of the Quran.

I read on islamqa.info that saying “Whatever Allaah wills and you will” is a form of minor shirk. What about if one just says “whatever you will”, or “come at whatever time you will” etc.?

This is not shirk.

In the past, my grandmother used to visit durgas and shrines of so-called “saints”. She got several blankets/sheets from the shrines and wants to know if she has to dispose of them, and how to do so. The sheets are embroidered with Arabic writing of “Allah” and “Muhammad”

She should burn them and get rid of them!

Is it permissible to pray behind an imam who :- (i)says rizk is from Allah(swt) & His Messenger Muhammad(saw)? (ii)The imam also makes the following dua – “O Messenger of Allah grant us your intercession & the intercession of your companions on the day of recompense”

It is not permissible to pray behind someone who believes that Rizq is from our prophet salla allahu alaihi wa sallam or calls him and ask him for intercession.

I told my brother that there is a fear of shirk involved in such practices. but he claims that it is bad if they make a baby to wear that thing on his neck & it is OK to feed him or to burn the substance so that the baby could smell its smoke. I advise him by saying ” please be patient and look after the baby” but he insist and keep asking me for the substance. at last I give him by saying that I m free from what you’ve done but i wish if u could not do it. is his claim right or wrong? am I regarded as the one who have helped them on this? May Allah (exalted be He) reward you.

His claim is false and baseless and you should not have given it to him and gotten rid of it before.

My uncle came to visit us and see my brothers son(a baby ,1 and half a year) crying out loud. at this he (uncle) said the baby is afflicted by the evil eye and he gave us something a flour( or powder) like substance originally made from plant roots as a remedy for an evil eye. which is to feed the baby by mixing with food and drink as well as to make the baby wear this substance around his neck. my uncle give me this substance to give them for their baby by my hand by telling me the procedures, how to use it. yet I do not give them and it is still with me. now my brother is planning to go to my uncles village in order to find a medicine for an evil eye. and if my uncle tells him that he already give it to me that medicine(i.e substance); my brother will really fight with me. First, what is the ruling on this? What can I do plz ? did i give him before he went to the village?

You should not have taken it from your uncle in the first place and should have warned your uncle from such practices! You must tell your brother that he gave you some thing but due to the fear of shirk involved in it you tried to keep them safe from it, and tell them about […]

If someone prays only to be praised by people and not for the sake of Allah, this is shirk!

Whoever makes ablution then says upon finishing: “Subhanaka Allahumma wa bihamdika;, Ashhadu an laa ilaha ila anta, Astaghfiruka wa atoobu ilayk”– it is written in a parchment,then sealed; and is not opened till judgement day. Is this parchment of any value to one who died one of the nullifiers of Islam ? IF NOT IS THERE ANYTHING THAT CAN WITHSTAND SHIRK LIKE SALATUL TASBIH THAT IS AUTHENTIC?

Dying on shirk invalidates all good deeds and nothing can help an individual who died on Shirk! If he repented to Allah before dying, then Allah will forgive him. Otherwise, he is doomed in hell!
