if zakah was given to a Syed family unknowingly and then we realize in the next year that they were Syed. Will that zakah for last year given to that Syed family be accepted or should we give that again?

If they were really poor, this is ok.

My tenant has left without paying rental amount of 5months. He is also poor and burdened with debts. Can I write off this from my zakat. If ok is it necessary to inform him about this? Waiting for ur kind advise

This is not permissible because you would be benefiting from this and receiving money that would almost be lost for ever.

My father has passed away.I am afraid he did’t give zakat as it has to be.He worked very hard until his last day of his life to bring us up.He bought two flats for my brothers to help them marry although they have jobs and salaries but they didn’t have enough money to bear all the expenses of marriage.My question is: Is what my father has done for my brothers considered zakat?

A wife pays all the bills as she works but husband is low income and can’t earn much due to depression. Can wife give zakat to her husband so he pays the bills with that money for the next few months?

I calculated the value of zakat that i had to give and it turned out to be 40000 rupees so i put this money aside. Few days later when i was about to hand over the zakat money, the rate of gold had changed and the due zakat now turned out to be 50000 rupees. At what rate do i give the zakat? According to the day i calculated it or the day when i hand over the money?

my question is:I have a land which i initially bought Four years ago with the intent to developed/built a house on it. Later I changed my mine to sell it so that I can meet up some of my needs. The amount of the land is upto nisab zakkat. Though the gain made is not much, less that the nisab. Do I have to calculate and pay zakat from the proceed?

If you intended to sell it and sold it and had spent the money in less than one year since intending tinsel it, there is no zakat.

I have a one question regarding zakaat al fitr , in our native (india) we are paying zakaat al fitr in the form of money but in saudi arabia we heard with some ulamas that it is must to pay in the form of food only not by cash , please shed some light on this topic….

It must be given in food as was mandated by the Prophet salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam.

Is zakat paid based on 2.5% per thousand or 2.5% of total bank balance ? Also, does this include multiple accounts as I have over £1000 in 1 account and only £20 in another account as well as £20 at home. So would I pay zakaat on £1040?

You pay 2.5% of whatever cash you possess for a lunar year.

,I am from a remote village of West Bengal(India).In my village there are lot of opinions regarding Zakat ul fitr are going on ,some says one should give paddy because West Bengal rich in paddy,some says one should give rice(milled),wheat or dates etc. Please through some light on this

It has to be given in the form of food such as rice, dates or grain.

Previously, I never paid Zakatul Fitr even when I was earning some money doing freelance work. My father usually paid it for me before eid, but I think he paid it in the form of cash, which I now understand is not the correct way as we should give food. I personally gave it in the form of food last year. For previous years if it was paid in cash by my father, what should i do?
