If a person has taken credit & not paying as per promise can that money be considered as Zakat money to him & he is relived of his debt?

It is not permissible for the person to drop off a debt on a poor man in exchange for not giving his zakat.

The balance of cash in my bank account increases and decreases each month. Eg: June 12000 ;July 10,000 ;August 11200; September 13,000. If I pay zakah on 10,000 which is balance I have held for whole year. In August 2016 will I need to pay zakah on 1200 (11200-10,000). Since I would have held it for one year. Please explain how to calculate easily.

You should look at the date on the Hijra calendar where you give your zakat and whatever you have on that day, give zakat on it regardless when it came.

Does one have to pay zakat towards the money kept in a bank in savings account for nearly nine months and later on put in Fixed Deposit a/c for the past three months (purely for security purpose only).

do we have to ask a person wether he does graveworship or shirk etc before giving zakat?is it not allowed to give zakat to shirki muslims?

Can I pay Zakat to school where 70% of the needy students are given free education who cannot pay their school fees and 30% students paying their dues in full to meet the staff and other building expenses. This is no profit no loss institution.

Assalamualaykum Shaikh, one question. can i keep aside zakat money to intend to pay after going India after Eid where I can give it to our deserving needy relative, even if my zakat Lunar year is already completed. what is the ruling, will it be OK to keep aside zakat money and pay later, coz here in UAE money goes to donation box but we want to give to our needy relatives.

Wa alaikum salam, You must call them and tell them that I have this much money for you and I will give it when I come. If they agree, you can do that.

Assalamu alaikum Sheik, I would like to know if a person had given zakat on his property last year ,does he have to give zakat on the same property this year as well provided the property is above the nisab level. Some of my friends argue that only once will suffice.Then zakat needs to be given for the extra property that got piled up for this year.How can I reply them with proofs. Jazakallah

Wa alaikum salam, There is no zakat on property used or property rented. Zakat is only on the property bought and sold and this is every year.

Assalmualikum I have purchased last year an apartment on instalment & I have paid 1/2 of the total price of apartment.Balance amount will be paid to landlord in instalment in coming 2years. This apartment is on rent and I am getting rent income from the property. How to calculate Zakat on this property? Wa alaikum salam, The zakat is on the rent if it completes one year in your possession.

My husband has started a business by taking up loan to purchase new machines n he is physically wounded with his half foot amputed due to excess of smoking . I was against the loan but without my knowledge he went for loan n purchased the new machines he has to pay heavy interest on that loan . Can I give my zakat to him to clear td loan as it he i is also earning n paying the interest monthly .? Or should I give to some other needy relative ? Pls guide me .
