I live in Abuja Nigeria, where we mix up with men while in the public buses or taxi the sat very close to us, many times I can’t afford to take drop only me pls what should I do, are we sinful in this mix up wit non mahram some of dem were non Muslim. I really don’t like it and it happens every day

ANSWER: If this is unavoidable then no problem in this but you must choose a seat next to a woman and try to avoid physical contact with men as much as possible and you must abide by the complete islamic hijab.

ANSWER: It is not safe for single women to live alone. It’s best she lives with her sisters.

My sister in law says hijab is not fard or obligatory,fard is namaz,roza,zakah,hajj…she says the same regarding growing beard..i said hijab is obligatory..how can i make her understand..she says these things come under masail(religious issues) not under obligation as only Allah has the righ to make anything obligatory or fa..

ANSWER: She’s talking about Islam without knowledge. Of course hijab and beard are obligatory. Most likely she doesn’t even know Arabic and had not read the Quran and doesn’t even know the difference of Quran from sunnah if one would read her a hadeeth!

Whn I was 10 I startled a muslim woman when she was coming out from her house.I didnt have any intention I was just a kid and it was only a joke. A couple weeks later she said she miscarried her child because of what I did.I didn’t know at that time that she was pregnant.She blames me until now(24 y.o.)for what I did. ANSWER: It’s not permissible to startle or scare a muslim. However, if you were a kid and not an adult, you’re not responsible even if she miscarried because of this incident.

I was informed that in the city I live in, most of the cakes we eat contain little bit of brandy (alcoholic drink) used as preservatives in place of chemicals. Although the brandy is not noticeable. Is is permissible to eat such cakes?

ANSWER: No problem as long as the job is halal, there’s no interaction or mingling with men and she observes the correct islamic hijab and her guardian approves of this.

ANSWER: This is prohibited as you are deceiving them and breaching their trust and also selling what you do not possess. Tell them that you will buy it for so and so and take a commission of so and so. If they agree, this is permissible.
