If a girl’s father completely refuses a man for his daughter because he is not of the same “financial status”, can the girl’s brother or uncle automatically become her wali? or what is the procedure

ANSWER: Her father must be her Wali and she can’t choose another Wali other than him. It is the father’s right to refuse whoever he believes is not suitable for his daughter. If your father is against you marrying anyone permanently, in this case, you can go to the Muslim court or the authorized Islamic center and they will appoint another guardian for you.

Some days ago, my family was introduced to a practising Muslim for marriage. I did istikhara but I am confused regarding results. My day did not go well after I did istikhara (faced some work problems) but some marriage related posts on fb randomly appeared to me. I think this person is right for me because he’s one of the few religious Muslims here. What should I do?

ANSWER: This is not how istikhara works. Once you have made a firm decision, you pray istikhara. If there is any good in it for you, Allah will facilitate it for you.

ANSWER: You MUST seek your parents forgiveness as well. Make a lot of dua for the deceased parent besides repenting to Allah for this major sin.
