QUESTION: Shiekh, My father want to me to do all his bank works as he didnt have much time , He tell me to do a fixed deposit of xyz amount , invest in Sip, ppf etc. I tell him so many times that dealing in riba is like engaging in war with Allah but he ignores me what to do should i listen to him?

ANSWER: You must not obey him in this regard as there is no pleasing or obedience to anyone at the cost of displeasing and disobedience to Allah. Try to be diplomatic and explain to him that you love him and you would do anything for him but you can’t disobey Allah.

ANSWER: It’s not mandatory to recite another surah after fateha even during fard prayers though it is a highly recommended sunnah in the 1st and 2nd rakah.

ANSWER: This is totally prohibited and its riba, one of the major sins in Islam. You must be part of both profit and loss. You can get a fixed percentage on the capital you invested and not a fixed amount.

ANSWER: If you realized this while you are still in the sujood, you must correct it. But if you remembered after raising from sujood, you must offer 2 prostrations of forgetfulness before your salam. If you remembered after finishing the prayer, there is nothing you can do now.

QUESTION: Sheik I have invested in my brother-in-law’s restaurant business, the total capital is 8lakhs and we shared 4lakhs each, he alone runs the business and i am sharing profit and loss with him on daily basis on my share of 15%, if the business shuts down and if there is a loss i will lose 50% of my capital. If inbetween I come out or if he sends me out of the business i will get my capital. Halal?
