QUESTION: My father consumes Alcohol on a daily basis. My mother and we (3) siblings tried so many times to make him understand that it is haram. QUESTION: My father has been retired for 15 years and is too old to work. He does not have any pension or monthly income and he also does not have any bank balance. But he owns two plots. QUESTION: I have heard of committing shirk due to ignorance can be excused and the knowledge is with Allah to know if a person is truly ignorant or has understood but rejects it. I explained shirk to my parents but they do not believe it is shirk to ask highly regarded people (who are not alive anymore) such as the ahlul bayt for help.
