QUESTION: My aunt went for hajj with her brother on 31th May and her husband had a heart attack on 1st June and passed away on 5th June. He was ill and she was only care giver for him as they have no kids. She knew he was sick. I just want to know what is the ruling in such cases. Please clarify.

ANSWER: As long as she has already left before his death and she is in Makkah, she should finish her hajj and return home afterwards to observe her iddah of whatever is left of the 4 months and 10 days.

ANSWER: This is your right and you can always ask him for it and get a commitment from him. If he still delays it, you can threaten him to speak to his parents or even take him to court.
