We read Surah Baqarah every three days so in a family can each member recite first para and then another member second para and then the third member half para. Can we divide it among the family members or the full Surah should be recited by only one ?

Somebody has asked a question to me and it is still wondering in my mind. He asked that it is mentioned in [Surah Al-Kahf 18:50] that:-“Behold! We said to the angels, “Bow down toAdam”: They bowed down except Iblis. He was one ofthe Jinns, and he broke the Command of hisLord. Will yethen take him and his progeny asprotectors rather than Me? What is the reward for the one who memorizes the Quran, I have heard people say that a hafiz can intercede on behalf of another muslim on the day of judgement. Is this true? Also, I have memorized the Quran and I am a non arab, …which books would you reccommend me to use to learn the arabic language to an extent that I can understand the Quran? There are 2 books which people often use, Al-Arabiyatu bayna yadaik and the Arabic course by Dr V Abdur Rahim. In your opinion which course would you recommend?

The hadeeth is weak and not authentic to my knowledge. As for the Arabic books, I don’t have knowledge in this.

Can I go for Tafseer Jalalayn English translation by Feras Hamza ?

You can but you should be careful as the Tafseer refers to some of the attributes of Allah and diverts it from its original meaning. This is because the Tafseer is following the Ash’aree Aqeedah.

Is it permissible to take swear for quran and if someone had taken but wanted to break it so what would be “kuffarah”?

If you will say I swear by the Quran, this is permissible. Putting your hand on the Quran is an innovation

What is the meaning of these words from: Surat Al-Baqarah 2, 184; “And upon those who are able [to fast, but with hardship] a ransom [as substitute] of feeding a poor person [each day]. And whoever volunteers excess – it is better for him. But to fast is best for you, if you only knew.

This was at the beginning of Islam that people had the right to pay money instead of fasting but then this was abrogated and only those who are too old or too sick to fast and can never make up, they are the ones addressed to feed a poor person.

Is it obligatory for every Muslim to know the translated meaning of Quran i.e. the surahs im reciting during prayer. I’m non arabic speaker.

It is not mandatory to know the translation of the Surah you are reading but it is highly recommended

Is it permissible to print only the Surah Al Kahf with translation as we can see Surah Yaseen alone in small booklets. Please forgive me if i am wrong and it is due to my ignorance.

There is no problem in doing that providing one doesn’t believe that there is something special in carrying such a Surah with him.

Can we recite the 6 verses of sakeenah in the home everyday expecting for tranquility in the home? or should it be recited only at the time of depression? What is the correct instant for the verses of sakeenah to be recited?Should we make any dua after reciting it asking for sakeenah?

There isn’t anything in the Sunnah that these verses remove depression or get tranquility. However, if a person on his own did that and hoping in attaining this goal with the grace of Allah, I believe that this is permissible as it is treatment and healing through the Quran.
