In our country, some people teach the recitation of the Quraan in return for money. Is this a halaal source of income?

Yes, as this is their income and they have to have an income instead of begging people. The Prophet salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam said that the most worthy of things to charge money for is the Quran.

Since Basmallah is considered by vast majority of scholars as a verse(1) of surah al-fatiha,what happens to the salat of a person who only recites basmallah in the first raka’at?

My mother in law asked me about a woman of 75 converted to Islam. She told my mother in law that if she hears the Azhaan or the Quran her right ear becomes red and it feels hot. She asked what this is?
