QUESTION: Does the mahr given during nikkah belong to just the bride or the bride and her parents as well?

ANSWER: It belongs to the bride alone.

QUESTION: Where does it say in the Qur’an and authentic ahadeeth that we cannot defend ourselves or clarify things against our parents, if/when THEY are wrong? You said to admit and say “I am wrong”, even when we are right. Wouldn’t that be lying as well? I understand not disrespecting part but where do you or the scholars get not defending ourselves and just be silent part? Where is the daleel?

QUESTION: In Tahajjud, I sit for five minutes after praying two rak’ahs before starting a new two rak’ahs. During those five or 10 minutes, I speak to Allah about everything that is on my mind. Is this a okay?

ANSWER: We don’t speak with Allah, rather we make dua to Him to ease our affairs!

QUESTION: If I try to pray tahhiyat al-masjid before maghrib, people object to it, saying it is ‘haram’ to pray. Somebody stopped my prayer. Should I just enter the masjid late, or sit down without praying the salah? Should I remain standing within the masjid? I ask this for when I enter upon the imam giving the jumu’ah khutbah as well. Is it true that those of the early generation did not pray during it?

ANSWER: You must not sit without offering it. You can either stand up until the iqamah is given or continue to pray regardless of their objections.

QUESTION: I have a trip in Ramadan where I will travel and be overseas for 10 days. Is it permissible to not fast these 10 days and make them up after Ramadan?
