Working in a non Islamic country and you are the boss in a government organisation and your subordinates(christians) are going in for riba based loan and the bank needs you the boss endorsement of their loan forms, how do you the boss handle such a case, now that it is against your religion.

ANSWER: You must not sign such passers that would facilitate them to take riba loans.

My question is about zakat. How to calculate it? Jewelries even if others are gift? ANSWER: Zakat is owed on all the gold you possess if it reaches the nisab (85 grams) whether it is a gift or even if it is gold that you use. There is no zakat on the flat if it’s not being displayed for sale.

Sheikh, After the ghusl of a deceased lady is given, when wrapping her body with the funeral cloth… should her hair be tied at the back or should it be left along on each side of her so it covers her chest.

ANSWER: It should be braided into 3 braids; two on the sides and one on the middle and then all are thrown to her back.

Suppose during aqd nikah mahr is written as 200000 tk, but with the intention that 70000 is obligatory to pay (as husbands capacity is low) and the remaining are optional for the husband, its totally up to him will he pay it or not? Is this type of condition allowed?

Please correct me if I’m wrong. I believe there is nothing wrong with eating a birthday cake. (Providing it is halal) Q) What is the ruling on putting “candles” on top of cakes? Is it imitating the kufar/fire worshippers? Sometimes people do this and they blow the candles to celebrate their own birthday.

ANSWER: It is not permissible to celebrate one’s birthday as this is imitating the disbelievers whether by putting candles or not. If someone offers you birthday cake, there is no problem in eating it providing you did not partake in their celebration.

ANSWER: This is not permissible as it involves facilitating in two major sins: Gambling and Riba.

Do we need to wipe our face with hand after reading last 3 surah after magirb and fajr. Like we wipe before going to sleep. Also what should be the way of wiping. Do we need to wipe even our legs which is far away from our hand when we lay down. Or we should sit and touch our leg from bed.

ANSWER: Cupping the hands and wiping is done only before going to bed. Doing that in the morning and evening is an innovation. You only recite them.

Sheikh i wanted to know whether in a democracy it is okay to be a lawyer (private or gov). Would becoming a lawyer mean to rule by law other than the one decreed? I want to be a lawyer and not a judge.

ANSWER: If one is working against Islam and Muslims, their salary is haram. Also, if they are taking cases and applying the rule of secular states, this is forbidden as one can only rule with the Islamic law except in cases that he is defending the rights of the oppressed and the likes.
