QUESTION: Please can you clarify, some scholars say its not permissible to fast only on a Saturday one must fast a day before or after and this year Arafah happens to falls on a Saturday so they said one must fast on Friday too, How true is this?

QUESTION: When the prayer started in the masjid someone who came after the takbeer turned off the ceiling fans and thus made us pray uncomfortably. We are in the summer and the masjid is hot. After taslem I reprimanded him and I said something similar to “is it a jinn?” (i.e. are you possessed!). My question is did I wrong that person for what I said later? ANSWER: This story is mentioned in the books of tafseer but it is not from the authentic sunnah. It is from the stories of the people of the book which we are told not to believe and not to falsify.

QUESTION: I really wanted to fast on the Day of Arafah this year, as I learnt about the Hadith that it expiates the sins of the previous and the upcoming year, but I got my periods, which was decreed for me by Allah. Will I get the reward, will my sins be forgiven (if I verbally seek Istaghfaar) while I cannot fast?
