QUESTION: A man haram income and food, so we know his dua isn’t accepted. So should he stop making dua until he is able to earn halal and eat halal? ANSWER: Duaa is a form of worship. Even if it is not accepted, one must continue to urge Allah and beg Him. Your analogy is like that of those whose prayers are not accepted for 40 days either due to consuming intoxicants or going to soothsayers and they stop praying for 40 days!
