I am working as a waiter for the women’s (only women’s not men ) , in parties , marriages, and functions, so there is songs and dance , but I am not interested in that , I am just concentrating on my work , Is it haram for Me ?

Yes, it is haram as you are helping them.

During congregation salaah if my cell phones rings what should I do? In case of taking the phone out from pocket and turn it off does it have any affect on salaah in terms of haraam and makrooh?

You should reach to it and either put it off or answer the call by pressing the answer button so that the called would not call again and would know that you are praying.

Can we build house on a grave or stay in a house which is built on graveyard?

You can’t build a house on a grave as a dead person must be buried in a cemetery. However, one can be buried in his house if there is no other place.

I have a habit of breaking my knuckles from time to time. But my grandmother says breaking knuckles at night time is inauspicious. Is there any basis for this?

This labeling is wrong as no one has the right to say that an individual is or is not a Mujtahid. Besides, this will lead for people to close the door of Ijtiihad forever.

Shaykh, if a man is living in a non-muslim contry and is the only son living with his parents. And he does not desire that anyone else do any job, rather he has left his education so that he may be able to financial provide his old parents But the problem is that the job he got is at a hindu’s place. He did ask his boss if he can take small breaks for salah but boss explicitly rejected. What should the guy do? If he gets emotional and suddenly leaves his job then he doesn’t know when will he get another job as he isn’t much educated and he is the one who is suppose to provide to his old parents. What should he do?

Can you please tell me weather the following sayings will make a muslim a kaafir? 1.saying “i wish ALLAH had made me a prophet/messenger” 2.i wish i had been one of the companions of the prophet. 3.when a person asks “are you a muslim ” replying “insha Allah i am a muslim”

1 and 2. The answer is that this wish is permissible because it is only a wish. 3.On the other hand is generally OK because the majority of the people don’t say that out of doubt as this would be wrong and forbidden.

Shaykh we know the fact that we SHOULD NOT take back a gift once we have given that to a person as there is a hadeeth about it as far as I remember But what if someone gave us a gift but after sometime we return that? Not with any bad feelings, just stating that I cannot keep it with myself.

Sheikh, is it halal to work for the Islamic Development Bank in Jeddah? I have asked different people but i am not sure if they deal with ribah.
