I have a christian filipino maid in my house..wanted to ask two questions…firstly, are we allowed to keep a non-muslim maid in the house and secondly, should i make her cover her head in front of my husband since she is a christian? jazakAllah

1- It is permissible to have a non Muslim in the house though it is not recommended. 2- Yes, she must cover.

If I dont want to serve any non Muslim company as it may leads to some of my relegious obligations to leave but at the same time I want a job desparately , what should I do?

My mom says cant learn the meaning of the surah as she unable to remember them so if she just reads them will she be getting the reward for it?

Sheikh, is there anything such as a wife gives up her rights over her husband who is having difficulty in treating the wives fairly, if she can bear it? if so, does it have to be in writing or she can take an oath between Allah, and herself.

There is no need for writing it or having an oath. All she needs to do is to tell her husband that she has permitted him not to equally divide the nights between her and the other wives, for example.

My parents are semi practising muslim and at many places I have to help them.I do not go to the parties they go but like taking out the vehicle or bringing the driver then am I transgressing and if I avoid that then there is a big tension at home always.

Calling a taxi or getting the car out for them is not sinful in sha’ Allah. Driving them is. Try to measure the pros and cons and act accordingly.

You should try to convince them and show her the attributes of that girl. if they insist, I would advise you to obey them.
