When we were about to get married, my husband told me at the eve of our wedding that he exhausted his money and does not have the mahr. So I told them that he had already given me, so during the wedding the amount was just mentioned but he did not give me till date. I read somewhere that without mahr the marriage is invalid. What is the ruling now?
